April 22nd marks the 41st anniversary of the first modern environmental movement. Earth Day came into the picture thanks to a man named Gaylord Nelson-then a U.S. Senator from Wisconsin. Nelson came up with the idea after witnessing a massive oil spill in Santa Barbara, California in 1969. However, what truly inspired this U.S. Senator was the student anti-war movement. With their determination and energy, 20 million Americans took the streets, parks, and auditoriums on April 22nd and spoke out about the need for a strong, sustainable environment.
As a result, in 1990, a group of environmental leaders approached a man names Denis Hayes to create another big campaign for a cleaner earth. This time, Earth Day went global. Today, we still celebrate Earth Day as a huge celebration, but what if we celebrate Earth Day every day?
If people around the world celebrated Earth Day 365 days of the year, we would make an enormous impact on our environment. In fact, one way that you can begin your green journey is by starting your own entirely green business with an exciting new green business opportunity. With the right skills and knowledge, you will be able to help other businesses save thousands while reducing waste through recycling and putting more greens back into your wallet.
So the next time you are at an Earth Day celebration, think of how you could be celebrating this exciting event every day and not just on April 22nd. By creating your own business, you too will have the opportunity to make a difference like Nelson and Hayes.
