The Strong Case for Recycling

Tuesday, October 25th, 2011

The case for recycling is strong. The bottom line is clear. Recycling requires a trivial amount of our time. Recycling saves money and reduces pollution. Recycling creates more jobs than landfilling or incineration. And a largely ignored but very important consideration, recycling reduces our need to dump our garbage in someone else’s backyard.
– David Morris of the Institute for Local Self-Reliance

When I first read this quote it made me think of how important recycling in our every day lives.  By recycling we are not only preserving the environment, saving energy, or reducing pollution.  But recycling is also largely overlooked in the sense that it creates 1.1 million jobs across the United States.

One of those opportunities could be for you, in the form of starting your own green business focused on making a difference with recycling. Yes, thanks to trash you can have the ability to be your own boss, create your own work schedule, and work from the comfort of your own home. All the while, you can make a residual income helping businesses of every scale save more by optimizing their waste streams so they waste less, recycling more, and spend less on unnecessary disposal.

As a result, your clients make more of an impact on the environment by reducing their impact, your community benefits, your landfill shrinks, and you earn part of what they save.

I understand that starting your own business that has a sole focus on trash does not sound like a successful business opportunity at first.  But with the right knowledge and training, starting your own green business gives you the unique (and recession proof!) to earn a very attractive residual income. In the past, independent business owners with similar businesses in the recycling industry have made up to six-figures! All by helping businesses save more by wasting less. Let’s face it, businesses are always looking for new ways to cut costs, and they would rather not do it by downsizing their work force or slowing production. By helping them minimize costs related to waste disposal you could be the solution to their problem!

So the next time you are taking out the trash, think about how you could be the owner of your own successful and green home based business!

Fall into Recycling by Starting Your Own Business

Tuesday, September 20th, 2011

For those of you that aren’t good with dates, September 22nd marks the beginning of fall.  For me, this is the start of my favorite time of the year.  At this point of the year, people are able to enjoy the beauty of what is around them. First, the trees are punctuated by fall colors slowly bleeding into their leaves, changing from green to vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows. Later we are able to spend time with family and friends picking apples and drinking cider. In October, we have the opportunity to go on the hunt for the biggest pumpkin in the patch.  Finally (and my personal favorite) my home surfing break is completely devoid of tourists.fall into a green business opportunity 300x225 Fall into Recycling by Starting Your Own Business waste management consulting business green business opportunity green business

While I am a huge fan of all of the above, one of my favorite things to do in the fall season is going on long hikes.  It is something about the crisp air and the beauty of the surrounding environment that constantly draws me to the mountains year after year.  However, sometimes we are not always fortunate enough to take part in these fall festivities because of either prior commitments or our busy work schedules.  If your career path is holding you back on partaking in this autumn season, I have an exciting opportunity for you to not only enjoy the outdoors, but to help protect it at the same time!

By starting your own environmentally friendly business, not only will you be able to work from the comfort of your own home, be your own boss, and create your own work schedule, but you will be able to help other businesses implement a waste disposal plan that will save them money and keep our environment clean so that we will all be able to enjoy the outdoors year after year.

So the next time you are unable to go on a hayride or hike up a mountain when a family member or friend asks you because of work, think of how a work at home career change could help! It really can be easier than you think.

Businesses are Busy – Help out With a Green Business Solution

Businesses are too busy to recycle, but you can help and earn more with recycling.

Today I went to a Marathon. No, I didn’t run it – but I watched. That counts for something, right? Apart from all the clapping, shouting, and the steady pounding of feet against pavement, I noticed plastic bottle after plastic bottle tossed aside and thrown away.

Now, it’s understandable that people running over 13 miles don’t have the time to step off the course and leisurely find a recycling bin to deposit their bottles in, but we can definitely draw some comparisons. We can compare those runners to businesses that are moving fast, who can’t feasibly find a way to recycle.

That’s where you can take advantage of an amazing new business opportunity that’s green. The world is a busy place, and businesses aren’t saved from it. So if you find a way to find a place for all the trash that gets tossed aside by the busy people, you can make some money and make a difference, and it’s not just limited to plastic. You can do it with plastic, with metal, with paper, and with practically everything else in between.

Do you see metal lying around? It can be broken down and reused. What about paper? Look around you. Do you see all the paper products? Chances are, most of them are made out of recycled paper. What about glass? These days, the ability to recycle glass into new products has made it so more of the glass you use is part of a long chain of recycling that cuts down on energy consumption while making the world a greener place. Regardless, no matter what material we’re talking about, they are all opportunities for you to help the busy people recycle, spread the green, and make some green.

Get Out With a New Green Business Opportunity

Tuesday, September 21st, 2010

The weather’s nice, the leaves are turning, and you want to get out. So why are you looking at a computer screen? Well, actually for the next couple of minutes you can go ahead and keep on doing that to keep reading the blog – but after that, just think about it.  Have you ever considered what a work at home business could give you?

A work at home business can give you the time to get out, the time you want to sleep in, or – if you prefer – the time you want to stay out late and it’s all possible because of trash. You read right, there’s a green business opportunity in making the most out of trash, by approaching a business and saying “I can save you thousands by helping you recycle better, and it won’t cost you a cent out of pocket.”

Just think about all the recyclable materials that businesses go through every day – that’s all “trash” that you can cash in on – plastic, metal, paper, and everything in between, and it’s “trash” that will allow you to do what you want with your own business, without the hassle of an office, a schedule, or employees.
So have you thought about starting new and getting out there with your own new business opportunity that’s green? The possibilities are out there – why aren’t’ you?

Everyone’s Got Waste, and You’ve got a Business Opportunity

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

Quick! Name as many types of business as you can….

•    Restaurant

waste4 300x225 Everyone’s Got Waste, and You’ve got a Business Opportunity waste management consulting business green business opportunity be your own boss green business opportunity

Waste is everywhere...but you can cash in

•    Clothing Store
•    Supermarket
•    Law Office
•    Office Building
•    Travel Agent
•    Pet Store
•    Shopping Mall•    Video Store
•    Gas Station
•    Fast Food Restaurant•    Call Center
•    Hospital
•    Small Business
•    Manufacturer
•    State Office•    Car Dealership
•    Florist

Ok, that’s enough!

Now, if you consider just a couple of those businesses – imagine the waste they can create.

How about a clothing store? Every day, clothing stores and large retailers have to throw away merchandise and various other “waste” items they come across during their day. For instance, maybe one specific waste item is a defective garment – if it’s thrown away, that’s an opportunity to save money that just got taken straight to the dump. On the other hand, someone experienced with recycling would be able to look at that “waste” and help a business save money that’s otherwise wasted.

Let’s consider another type of business. How about a manufacturer? No matter what kind of products this manufacturer manufactures, they’re bound to have some excess material. Maybe it’s metal, maybe it’s plastic – but no matter which way you look at it, it’s pretty difficult to use 100% of the materials you have to work with. Something usually goes to waste, but that doesn’t have to be the case.  Once again, someone experienced with the in’s and out’s of recycling would know precisely how to take that “waste” that would otherwise be cast aside or thrown away, and turn it into savings. Maybe that means simple recycling, or maybe it means finding someone who needs the material – either way, everyone wins.

See? No matter what kind of business you think about, recycling and business opportunities go hand in hand. Where do you see waste being made that could be turned into valuable savings? Let us know in the comments section!

A Great Time For Recycling and Green Business Opportunities

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

If you read earlier in the week, I wrote about August,  the little known fact that August is otherwise known as “National Panini Month,” and the reality that green business opportunities can be seen everywhere when you take a second to look at all the food we eat, and all the waste created at restaurants.

Well, now it’s almost September and while it may not be as exciting as “National Panini Month” there are a lot of opportunities to look forward to – opportunities to be your own boss and work at home – all through the value of recycling.

Every time September Rolls around, it’s hard not to think about all the kids everywhere going to school. From kindergartners all the way up to college students – they’re all getting ready to head back. However, the one thing I can’t stop thinking about is how much trash they must create! Think about all that paper!

We wrote earlier in the month that recycling all the newspapers in the country could power 50 million homes for 20 years! Now imagine if the same was done for writing paper and computer paper thrown away every year in schools across the country.

Think about all of those schools, and then think about how many of them don’t recycle, or of the ones that do, how inefficient they are at it. Hauling all that paper to the dump is money spent, energy wasted, and money thrown away that could be saved instead.

Just like businesses, schools have budgets too – and they’re always looking to cut costs. If you can help a school save money – you could be saving someone’s job, or making sure certain programs have the funding they need to buy supplies. That’s how big of a difference recycling can make. It’s undeniable that waste has value,  and all you have to do to  earn more money with a green business opportunity is spread the knowledge.

Recycling To Live Better and Earn More, and Be Your Own Boss

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

Across the country communities appear to be recycling more and more. You’ve probably noticed it, driving around you more than likely see specially colored bags and blue containers – signs that residents are recycling.  Even if a community doesn’t recycle, you might see them trying to do their part to make more of an impact by making less of an impact.  But even if it seems that communities, neighborhoods, and individual households are recycling more –  the question remains…. are businesses recycling more?

Recycling is Everywhere

Many times it seems that businesses aren’t recycling as much as they can be – even though these businesses are the same places where so many individual recyclers work every day. However, it may be the case that these businesses aren’t not recycling because they don’t want to or don’t feel that they need to, but because they don’t know that they can.

All it takes is for a waste stream to change paths and become a recycling stream, and the impact can be astonishing. Just last week I wrote that  the wood and paper thrown away every year by Americans is enough to heat 50 million homes for 20 years. 20 years! All from recycling. That’s more than just saving money – which every business cares about – but it’s also energy saved and yet another step towards helping to save the environment.

So why not recycle like we do in our homes in our businesses? All it takes is educating businesses on the potential of recycling, and before you know it – it’s a green business opportunity in the making.

August is for Beginnings: Start Anew with a New Business Opportunity

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

Welcome to August! The “Harvest” month, the “Month of the Sickle”, the month when we start to think about the end of summer, and the month we start to see children and loved ones off to school.  August is full of many beginnings and endings – for everyone, why can’t it be an opportunity to reflect on yourself?

There were most likely the days that you looked forward to your very own new beginnings. The start of a new school year, a new career, a nice promotion, and maybe more. Do you ever feel that your milestones are now fewer and far between?  Perhaps it’s time to start making your own beginnings.

One way to create a new beginning for yourself is to start a home business. Being a business owner doesn’t have to be as toilsome and time consuming as you may think. You can live your life and work at home while making money you didn’t know you could. This is where an opportunity like ours comes in. For the EWS affiliates reading, you know what we’re talking about. But if you haven’t taken the leap and started your own home business – counting on trash can be one of the most profitable choices you can make.

You read it right: Trash

Every day, people throw away more and more that can be recycled, and with the speed that recycling is becoming more advanced – the magnitude of what can be recycled and reused is growing every day. That means that more of the trash that gets thrown away is actually trash that can be saved.

There’s no point in going on and on about it, because it’s really this simple: Businesses save more money recycling. By helping business recycle, you can earn more. Why not give it a shot? Make a new beginning for yourself.

A Green Business Opportunity, a Messy Black Example

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

Last month, we wrote about the situation in the Gulf of Mexico. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like things have gotten that much better. From the very beginning, there was concern that the oil would become a major environmental catastrophe, and it has. As horrible as it is, the whole thing brings to mind one of the most important factors in saving money for businesses – streamlining business waste.

spill 300x285 A Green Business Opportunity, a Messy Black Example waste management consulting business business recycling recycling

The oil spill in the gulf of mexico is a great example of how business waste consultants can streamline waste to save money

When businesses streamline waste, they have to spend less in the long haul. It’s a lesson we can apply to much more than business waste. That is, by doing things right, remaining diligent, and being proactive early on, you can avoid the high costs of cleaning up a costly mistake. Well, an oil spill of any kind is a great example of a costly mistake.

Let think about it in a different and simpler context. The grocery store down the street throws away all the cardboard they accumulate at the end of every month. Unfortunately, for the business owner that isn’t in the know, that’s the end of the story!  However, the story continues if you can see waste from a more enlightened perspective.

For the independent waste consultant, that cardboard a business would normally throw away can be the valuable focus of a green new business opportunity, helping each business save money by recycling the waste they didn’t know they could. Eventually, that grocery store would have thrown away hundreds if not thousands of dollars in savings, expensively and unnecessarily hauling a great deal of value to the dump. But thankfully that can all be avoided.

With the right training, waste consultants can help businesses of all kinds make the right decisions about their “trash” early on. This way, they avoid wasting what they never knew was a valuable source of savings and avoid a major headache in the future.

At the same time, while working at home in a new business opportunity that allows you to be your own boss – the independent waste affiliate makes a percentage of each business’s savings and a positive impact on the environment at the same time.

Waste is Everywhere, and So is Opportunity

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

If you’ve been reading for a while or have only had the chance to check out a few posts, you’ll know that when it all comes down to it – when every word on this blog is condensed into a single sentence – it all boils down to this: trash can be valuable.

We come into contact with products that can be recycled every day, and recycling makes a real impact on the world. But more can be done, and you can profit from recycling just by looking at trash a little bit differently.

Take a look around. What do you see that could be recycled, and what do you see that isn’t being recycled that probably won’t be?  Now that you’ve taken a second to think about all the little things we waste, think about it on a larger scale. Everyone wastes, especially businesses – and with a green work at home business you can help businesses save where they never knew they were wasting.

Think about it this way…. if you can tell a business “You’re throwing away money every day” Chances are, they’ll want to reclaim it.

Let’s be honest, when we throw away something useful, we rarely think about how we’re wasting. Even still, every reusable and recyclable piece of “trash” is money down the drain, where it could instead be money saved for a business, with a percentage of it in your pocket.

That’s how easy it is. With the eye to see waste in business and the training to know how to eliminate it, you can be your own boss and make money while simultaneously making a difference. Remember, waste is everywhere. So why not make your mark with a green business opportunity that actually works?

Oh, and don’t forget to try and reuse that plastic container or bottle you know you’ll probably use today!
