“Forests: Nature at your Service”: A Perspective on GREEN

Sunday, June 5th, 2011

June 5th is World Environment Day.  This specific day was first established one June 5, 1973 in order to stimulate awareness of the environment around the world.  Each year a different country is chosen to host this annual celebration with a specific theme.  This year, India was chosen to be the host country with the theme “Forest: Nature at your Service”.  The significance of each of these events is to emphasize how each of our individual actions has an exponential impact on the world around us.  Thought of in a business context, this sentiment couldn’t be truer.

We all do our best to go green in some aspects of our lives, but for some it is not as easy.  By starting your own entirely green ‘at home’ business, you could be the one who helps those take that extra green step.  Now I understand that starting your own business sounds overwhelming.  But with the help of Environment Waste Solutions, you will have guidance every step of the way.

As an Environmental Waste Solutions affiliate you get all the benefits of being backed by the leader in a truly green revolution as well as the perks of being your own boss. Over the years, EWS affiliates have had the opportunity to help businesses across the country implement initiatives that have saved money and made communities greener, all on their own. By giving you the knowledge to help other businesses save on the waste they toss out on a daily basis, you can do the same.

Businesses are focused on making a profit and cutting expenses where they see fit.  However, in the process of doing this they often overlook the fact that they could be saving money through waste disposal and recycling. Just as World Environment Day stresses the impact a single person can make, EWS does the very same. You can be the deciding factor in a change that influences a business to go green and save more, instead of cutting a position or scaling back production.

Ever wished you could make a difference with your career? On June 5th, think about how you could make a change in our world by starting your own home business.  Not only will have the option to work full time or part time and be your own boss, but you will be able to make a profit by showing other businesses the green money saving initiatives that they are missing out on.

Love Your Trash, Love your Green Work at Home Business

Thursday, February 10th, 2011

“I love you” is a phrase that can be translated into several dozen languages.  It is a phrase that we use to express our deepest feelings and admiration for another person.   Now take a moment and think about the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word “love”?  Most people would think of a loved one, family, friends, a pet, etc.  However, what about loving your trash?

Yes, your trash. Where’s the love for trash?

We spend so much time loving someone, when we could actually be spending more time loving our trash. Seriously, by recycling your waste you get to see the value of something you so often take for granted. With recycling, you gain perspective. Who knows? Maybe it can help you gain a new perspective on other parts of your life as well.

For instance, by loving your trash you are able to make the environment a cleaner place, make a positive impact on the world we live in, and make a living! That’s right, with recycling, you can take advantage of an opportunity that gives you the chance to establish an entirely green home business, be your own boss, and create your own work schedule.   Supplied with the right tools and knowledge, you will be able to assist other companies save more money with better recycling.

So the next time you overlook the amount of trash and waste that surrounds you on a daily basis, begin to realize how recycling is all around you as well.  As silly as it may sound, once you begin to love your trash, it will start loving you back! No, your trash won’t grow arms and take you out to dinner – but when you make a living helping other businesses recycle with a green work at home business, you’ll have the extra money to do what you want. So yes – trash and recycling can pay for your dinner.

A 4th Grader’s Perspective on Recycling: It’s all About Value

Friday, February 4th, 2011

Recently, it occurred to me recently that I typically write about recycling from a perspective that would appeal to either a young adult or an already established professional who might be ready for something new. However, those aren’t the only types of people living in our world. In order to make an impact we all need to participate in recycling.  Therefore, I thought that it was important to start reaching out to our younger generation.  Especially since they are the ones who will be most affected by our poor recycling and trash throwing habits in the future!

When I decided to have a friend ask her fourth grade students to describe their thoughts on recycling and why it is important, some of the responses I received were…

- “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle…Recycle and save the planet.  Think green!”

-  “I think recycling is really important.  Recycling can change our world.  You can pick up litter or go around your neighborhood for their used paper, metal, fabric, and plastic products they don’t need any more.  Then you can bring them to a local recycling center near you.  By recycling you are making our plant green.”

- “Recycling is important because it helps our community, environment, and animals.”

- “Recycling is an awesome way to help the environment!  There is a really awesome ways to recycle such as making a boat out of bottles or making a jump rope with bottle cap handles.”

So you see, while fourth graders might not be concerned with the business opportunity in recycling – they’re clearly aware that recycling has tremendous value. As much fun as making a jump rope out of bottle caps sounds, a way that YOU could help the future of our children is just as simple! Why not create your own entirely green business opportunity?

With your very own green work at home business, you will have the opportunity to teach business of every size and from every industry the importance of recycling and how it can save them money in the long run.  Additionally, it goes to show that there is a lot of value in recycling that goes unnoticed.  In the end, sometimes it takes a child’s perspective to make us look at the bigger picture.  So in the words of a fourth grader, “Which path will you choose? I recommend the green path!”

The Business Opportunity in Recycling

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

Do you ever happen to notice the tabloids at the checkout counter when you’re in the grocery store? “Stories” about breakups, babies, feuds, and everything in between. Typically, we tend to gloss over them – but something jumped out at me today.

On the cover of one of the most popular tabloid magazines was a picture of a specific celebrity, known the world over for making a difference through recycling. The interesting thing was that this certain celebrity was making tabloid headlines for his fashion line, clothing marketed to the rich and famous that made a point to be green. Unsurprisingly, his clothing company was becoming a great success; all because it’s focused on manufacturing clothes that are made out of 100% recycled materials. This just goes to show that making a difference through recycling is more than just good for the environment, it’s good for business.

That fashion company is a prime example of a new business opportunity that makes a difference by being grounded in recycling and sustainability. Even while a certain amount of profit goes to helping the environment, there is still an incredible potential for profit. At its core, it’s a lucrative green business opportunity that makes a difference in the world while also generating a profit – and you can do it too. Once again, it’s all a matter of perspective. Trash can be more, and you can make it more.

Now we’re not necessarily saying that you should make designer clothing out of trash (Did anyone see that pop star wearing a trash bag at the MTV movie awards a few months ago?), but a clothing company focused on recycling is a fantastic example.

By becoming an independent waste consultant, you might not be the head of an internationally known fashion company, but you can make a difference by helping businesses recycle. Less waste will go to the dump, more recyclable materials will be used, and you can earn part of what businesses save. Everyone wins.

Perspectives on Thanksgiving, and a Thank You.

Thursday, November 25th, 2010

Thanksgiving!  It’s such a great holiday for so many reasons. Sure, there’s the turkey, the cranberry sauce, the casserole and the second, the third, and fourth servings. Then there’s football, the movie marathons, and – of course – the dessert. But let’s not forget that there’s more to it than the food and the football. After all, Thanksgiving is about thanks.thanksgiving 300x225 Perspectives on Thanksgiving, and a Thank You. uncategorized green business opportunity

Many times, you read in this blog about “perspective”. We write about changing perspectives when it comes to waste, and say that changing the way you look at things can often reveal their true value,  like the dumpster full of plastic water bottles that can one day help the environment as recycled plastic for new products.

We learn that instead of being thrown away and forgotten forever, recyclable waste can become something more valuable. Or we see how through recycling, businesses can save money and an independent waste consultant can earn a living with a green business opportunity. You see – it’s all about perspective, and today is one of those days where we use that perspective to say thank you.

On a day like today, we’re reminded that it’s valuable to change our perspectives on more than just waste, but on everything. With that in mind, we’re thankful for the simple opportunity to help others recycle more, recycle better, and recycle for a real difference.

So instead of writing about all the waste that today’s cooking and eating creates and relating it back to how you could create a stay at home business, let’s just take today to focus on the perspective that Thanksgiving helps us cultivate – where we’re more inclined to look a little closer. Not just at the things we write about in this blog, like green business opportunities, working at home, waste, and recycling – but in looking at things a different way to see all the value wrapped up in them.

Happy Thanksgiving

Let It (Fake) Snow: The Value of Recycling So You Can Be Your Own Boss

snow 212x300 Let It (Fake) Snow: The Value of Recycling So You Can Be Your Own Boss recycling green business opportunity

Ever thought about recycled snow as a green business opportunity? Well it is! and Ski mountains cash in every year.

There’s no denying that fall is passing and it’s getting colder by the week, but that doesn’t mean that its winter quite yet. In fact, in some places across the country it’s still plenty warm. But that won’t stop eager ski mountains from attempting to churn out snow from their snow machines.

While some might refer to snow made by a snow machine as “artificial” it is anything but. Snowmaking is done by combining water and pressurized air, spitting it out when it’s cold enough, and voila – snow. If it wasn’t for water, that snow couldn’t exist – and in most cases, you could call the water that helps make it happen recycled.

Many ski mountains use a pond or a lake that’s fed by runoff and rainwater, all for the purpose of recycling the water so it can be turned into snow. There you have it – a perfect example of the value of recycling for businesses. It’s all about the way you look at things. Looked at the right way, you too can turn waste into value, and you can do it by helping other businesses recycle.  The best part? It gives you the chance to work independently, be your own boss, and earn a residual income.

Typically, businesses are not ski mountains. However, like the ski Mountains they can take advantage of recycling in a similar way. Instead of water, there’s waste. Just like a ski area recycles water to create something of value, so can other businesses with regular everyday waste. Except in this case, that value comes in the form of savings.

With the right knowledge, an ambitious waste consultant can start a successful work at home business helping others save money by recycling, and in the end it’s all about the way you look at things. So, how can you turn waste into value?

Get Out With a New Green Business Opportunity

Tuesday, September 21st, 2010

The weather’s nice, the leaves are turning, and you want to get out. So why are you looking at a computer screen? Well, actually for the next couple of minutes you can go ahead and keep on doing that to keep reading the blog – but after that, just think about it.  Have you ever considered what a work at home business could give you?

A work at home business can give you the time to get out, the time you want to sleep in, or – if you prefer – the time you want to stay out late and it’s all possible because of trash. You read right, there’s a green business opportunity in making the most out of trash, by approaching a business and saying “I can save you thousands by helping you recycle better, and it won’t cost you a cent out of pocket.”

Just think about all the recyclable materials that businesses go through every day – that’s all “trash” that you can cash in on – plastic, metal, paper, and everything in between, and it’s “trash” that will allow you to do what you want with your own business, without the hassle of an office, a schedule, or employees.
So have you thought about starting new and getting out there with your own new business opportunity that’s green? The possibilities are out there – why aren’t’ you?

They’re asking, “How do I go green?” Answer with a Green Business Opportunity

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

Across the country and around the world, businesses everywhere are focusing more and more on the environment. Whether they’re compelled by the law or their own desire to make a positive impact, businesses in every industry are looking for ways to recycle. However, the truth is that while many of them want to recycle, they’re also having a hard time figuring out how. That’s where you can come in.
Consider for instance someone in the industrial sector – working with large quantities of materials such as steel, aluminum, and plastic. They create their products and then they’re left with piles of material that, by their standards,

You can go green and help OTHERS do the same with a new green business opportunity

is “unusable”. But is it?

Business owners are focused on their business, they’re not focused on the nuances of recycling, but if you’re looking for a fantastic business opportunity that can actually make a difference – you can help them.

By learning more about the recycling industry, you can home in on the most effective and efficient ways to recycle virtually anything. Not only is that good news for the environment, but it’s also good news for the business you’ll help in the future.

With a full working knowledge of the recycling industry, as an independent waste consultant you can take that unused plastic or metal and find the most cost efficient way to dispose of it, preventing businesses from “wasting” their waste, saving them money, and earning part of what they save.
It’s green and it’s a business opportunity where you can be your own boss. Have you thought about a green business opportunity before?

How do you currently recycle in your business? Could you be doing more?

Leaves, Trash, and Opportunity

leaves 300x225 Leaves, Trash, and Opportunity recycling green business opportunity business recycling recycling

A business opportunity based on recycling is kind of like raking leaves

We’re not too sure about your families, but for many of us – the earliest beginnings of Fall bring to mind a number of traditions. From yearly family outings we squeeze into the last days of summer to the first family activities that are distinctly reserved for autumn, seasonal traditions are everywhere– but around here, the coming of fall brings to mind one distinct tradition, raking leaves.

Depending on your side of the country, not only will you begin to see leaves peppering the ground, but the thought will cross your mind that those leaves will, eventually, need to be disposed of, and that’s where the connection to waste is (you knew it was coming). Raking leaves is just like taking care of business waste. Without raking, your yard’s a mess. Without recycling, your business – and potentially your finances— can be a mess as well.

What are leaves? They look good, they smell good – but essentially, they’re trash. Left on your lawn, they’ll make it look bad and they’ll kill your grass.

What is trash? Trash doesn’t look good, trash doesn’t smell good, and if left on your lawn, everyone will avoid you.

Okay, so maybe in that sense, trash and leaves aren’t painfully similar, but when you think of how you can dispose of them, the similarities arise.

You can recycle leaves, and you can recycle trash. Doing both of these things has a positive effect on the environment and on your image. In that sense, recycling trash – just like recycling leaves – presents an opportunity for businesses to be better.  Just like recycling leaves will save you money by saving your grass – recycling business waste helps a business save money by making waste streams greener and more efficient. But most business owners don’t see this, they’re too busy. You can help them, and make a green business opportunity out of streamlining business waste in a wide variety of industries.
Have you ever wanted to be your own boss and start a work at home business? Now’s your chance. The leaves are fragrant, the trash is pungent – and it’s time to cash in.

Recycling in Our Day to Day: A Business Opportunity in Itself

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

A few days ago I went to lunch with my friend.  While enjoying each other’s company over a good soup and salad combo at our favorite restaurant, I began to wonder if he was aware of how resourceful he is with everything he does throughout his day-to-day life.  I knew by asking him to list off all the items he consumed on the previous day I was going to get a strange look and would have to explain myself – but I knew the little experiment would be worth it.

By realizing the magnitude of waste, you can seriously earn more.

Just as I felt that awkward pause we’re all so fond of and noticed a quizzical smirk—I knew precisely what would be said next, “you want me to do what?”   After some minor persuasion – perhaps in the form of a drink on me – he finally agreed and told me what he had for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between.

• Breakfast: eggs (last ones in the carton) and an individual cup of yogurt
• Mid-morning: Styrofoam cup filled with coffee
• Lunch: homemade sandwich brought in a plastic bag, bag of chips, and bottle of water
• Mid-day: apple
• Dinner: steak, salad, and 2 bottles of beer

Now here comes the reasoning to my bizarre question and a reason why recycling can be essential to a work at home business opportunity.  Out of everything my friend ate throughout the day, how much of it was recyclable? Obviously not everything was, but looking through his list, I can see that there are at least 8 things that could have been recycled.

Too often we don’t think twice about what we put into our trashcans.  We don’t realize how much money goes into our waste baskets.  It is like the saying “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”.  If you look into your trash at work, you might not find a lot of treasure – but you will find recyclables, and that has value.  By recycling, companies will be able to save money and contribute to a healthier environment. So, it’s really an easy sell.

Every day, EWS affiliates approach business and, essentially say: “I can save you money, at absolutely no cost out of pocket by helping you recycle better.”  Sure, it’s painfully simple. But it’s also painfully effective. So why wait? Have you ever wanted your own work at home business? Maybe recycling is the answer.
