Own Your Own Eco-friendly Business and Get the A+ You Deserve

Sunday, August 28th, 2011

August is a very busy month!  Summer vacation is coming to an end, everyone is trying to fit in vacation time with loved ones, and trying to accomplish those last minute outdoor activities before summer comes to an end.  However, with summer vacation officially almost over, that means only one thing…back to school!  As most kids are dreading the end of their 3 month vacation, parents are jumping up and down for joy.  However, there is still a lot to do before the first day of school, such as, supplies and clothes shopping and much needed haircuts.  But as we are all busy gathering everything on our lists for our children to have another successful school year, we often over look a major detail…is your child’s school environmentally friendly?school2 300x185 Own Your Own Eco friendly Business and Get the A+ You Deserve going green green business

This may seem like an absurd question to ask but recycling can play an important role in how your child performs in the classroom.  “According to the U.S. Green Building Council, green schools, on average, use 33 percent less energy and 32 percent less water.” For example, Great Seneca Creek Elementary in Germantown, MD “skims about $60,000 off its annual energy bill and conserves about 43 percent—or 360,000 gallons—of water each year.”  Today, some 50 schools across the United States are turning green and have seen improvements environmentally, academically, financially, and health wise which have been impossible to ignore.

As you can see, conserving energy and water throughout the year can save the school thousands of dollars, and you know what that means – more money for vital supplies. When schools save money on things like water and energy, teacher jobs are safer, books are kept current, facilities are kept in shape, and everyone benefits. However, water and energy are not the only ways that schools can cut back.  What do teachers and students use every day? Pencils, books, food items, paper, paper, paper, and more paper! All day, schools are rapidly using and throwing away things that can be recycled instead! By recycling the material items that both teachers and students use throughout the year, schools will be able to cut back on waste disposal costs and provide even more of a financial boost that they so desperately need.

Check back next week to see how starting your own entirely green business opportunity could help your local schools save more and be environmentally friendly at the same time!

Having Fun in the Sun While Making Money with a Green Work at Home Business

Thursday, July 21st, 2011

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to visit the beach during the local Sandcastle Festival.  It is a week long exhibition of sandcastles representing anything from extravagant castles to sea animals.  People travel each year from all over the state to admire the intricate sand art and to enjoy the delicious food and beverages the area has to offer.

Throughout the day, I watched as people enjoyed their day surrounded with amazing sculptures, good food, and great company.  While, I too was enjoying my own fried dough and freshly squeezed lemonade, I was forced to throw my paper plate and plastic cup away in the trash bin, along with many other recyclable items.  There were over a thousand people in attendance to this festival, which means that every time they ordered something to eat or drink, their recyclable items were getting thrown into the trash.  The town may as well have been throwing piles of money away, considering all the needless disposal they were now responsible for and the sheer amount of recyclable that would inevitably be carted off to the dump.

If only someone told them that they could have saved money by making recycling available, they would have been able to reduce the amount of money spent on waste disposal.  In fact, you could have been the person to inform businesses, large and small, of this by starting your own work at home business.
By starting you own entirely green business you would have the opportunity to make a six figure income working with trash! Businesses are always looking for ways to reduce waste disposal costs, and you could be the solution to their problem! In fact, Environmental Waste Solutions has seen a 25% growth in the recent recession and continues to grow today – a good sign for independent affiliates across the country.

So the next time you are at a local festival, enjoying everything it has to offer, think of how you could be saving them money by starting your own at home business.  By helping other businesses cut back on waste disposal, not only would you be helping them save thousands, but you too will be making a living as your own boss, in a green business opportunity that makes a real difference.

There are Opportunities All Around – Especially to be Your Own Boss

Tuesday, July 12th, 2011

As I was on my nightly walk around my neighborhood, I decided to walk a little farther to the city park.  It is a beautiful and peaceful place to walk around on a warm summer night.  There were flowers all around in full bloom, ducks swimming in the ponds while little children fed them old bread crumbs, and many other people enjoying the serenity of the summer night.  However, as I continued to walk around the park, I couldn’t help but notice that there were numerous garbage bins surrounding the area.  I am pleased to see that since the city has made these available, the park is able to stay free from most litter.  But what bothered me most was not the fact that even when waste baskets are made available, trash still found its way to the ground but that people were not given the opportunity to recycle- especially in a city that participates in the “Pay as You Throw” program.perspective on business opportunities work at home 197x300 There are Opportunities All Around Especially to be Your Own Boss earn a six figure income

For those of you that are unfamiliar with PAYT, it is a program where “residents are charged for the collection of municipal solid waste—ordinary household trash—based on the amount they throw away. This creates a direct economic incentive to recycle more and to generate less waste.”  When a city that implements programs (like PAYT) that are geared for residents to be more aware of recycling, shouldn’t there be more recycling opportunities in public places, such as the city park?

If you are reading this and thinking to yourself that you have seen/ not seen chances for people in your town to recycle, you could be the solution to this problem!  By starting your own green business, you will have the skills and knowledge to help your city and other local businesses- big or small- reduce waste disposal costs and recycle more often.  In fact, with environmental laws enforcing businesses to dispose of their waste properly, you could be there to guide them to dispose it properly AND cost effectively.

So the next time you decide to take an evening stroll on a warm summer night, take note on the amount of recycling opportunities there are.  If there are none, you could be the change they need and become your own boss with a work at home business at the same time!

Ready for a New Year? Start Something New with a Work from Home Business Opportunity

Thursday, December 30th, 2010

Does the speed of time never cease to astonish you? Already a year has come and gone, and thankfully we’ve had the opportunity to make not more than just an impact, but a positive impact. From the very basic idea that trash doesn’t have to be waste, businesses have saved money, waste consultants have earned money,  we all breath just a little easier, and we all enjoy an environment that’s just a little purer.

Have a Happy New Year: Start Something New!

Over time, independent waste consultants across the country  (many who once found themselves reading this very blog) have reached out to businesses of every variety to help them recycle, save, and make a difference.

With that said, what are your plans for the New Year? Do you want to make more of a difference next year? Or maybe you’re focused on professional development? Too often, those two motivations are separated. They don’t have to be.

There actually are opportunities to both make a difference and develop professionally. Thankfully, over the past year we’ve had the opportunity to help readers like you accomplish that by starting a  work at home business opportunity that lets you be your own boss, earn more money, and make a difference – all at the same time.

There’s nothing magical about it. Think of it this way:
1.  Businesses are busy.
2.  Businesses don’t have time to learn how to recycle better.
3.  Disposing of business waste costs money.
4.  Inefficiently or improperly disposing of business waste costs more money
BUT
5. Recycling saves money.
(AND)
6. You can earn money helping businesses save money

If you don’t have any big plans for the New Year, why not make one? Make a plan to make a difference, make a plan to earn more money, or both.

They’re asking, “How do I go green?” Answer with a Green Business Opportunity

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

Across the country and around the world, businesses everywhere are focusing more and more on the environment. Whether they’re compelled by the law or their own desire to make a positive impact, businesses in every industry are looking for ways to recycle. However, the truth is that while many of them want to recycle, they’re also having a hard time figuring out how. That’s where you can come in.
Consider for instance someone in the industrial sector – working with large quantities of materials such as steel, aluminum, and plastic. They create their products and then they’re left with piles of material that, by their standards,

green 300x300 They’re asking, “How do I go green?” Answer with a Green Business Opportunity be your own boss green business opportunity

You can go green and help OTHERS do the same with a new green business opportunity

is “unusable”. But is it?

Business owners are focused on their business, they’re not focused on the nuances of recycling, but if you’re looking for a fantastic business opportunity that can actually make a difference – you can help them.

By learning more about the recycling industry, you can home in on the most effective and efficient ways to recycle virtually anything. Not only is that good news for the environment, but it’s also good news for the business you’ll help in the future.

With a full working knowledge of the recycling industry, as an independent waste consultant you can take that unused plastic or metal and find the most cost efficient way to dispose of it, preventing businesses from “wasting” their waste, saving them money, and earning part of what they save.
It’s green and it’s a business opportunity where you can be your own boss. Have you thought about a green business opportunity before?

How do you currently recycle in your business? Could you be doing more?

Reap What they Sow: Cash in on Trash with a Work at Home Business Opportunity

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

harvest 300x225 Reap What they Sow: Cash in on Trash with a Work at Home Business Opportunity green business opportunityIt seems like so many months are called “the Harvest Month” and for the Swiss, that would be September – the season they call Herbstmonat. On the surface, that has just about nothing to do with recycling, business, business opportunities, or self employment. However, if you dig a little bit deeper you’ll see that it does.

When it comes to harvesting, we typically end up harvesting what we planted in the previous season, unless of course you’re stealing. So what do businesses “sow” all year? Sure, they create new products, start new business relationships, break ground, open stores, close sales – and everything in between, but the entire time, they’re also creating a bi-product. They’re creating a multitude of waste that comes in every shape and size. It’s inevitable, and it costs money to dispose of, but that waste doesn’t need to simply be thrown away. Why not harvest it?  Yes, you read right. You can “harvest” waste.
You might not be gathering a “crop” but you’re gathering the “accidental” fruit of a business’ labor, and finding the most effective and efficient way to dispose of it.

Sure, it sounds cheesy – but by “harvesting” waste in this way, as an independent waste consultant you can save your clients money, earn some of what they save, and help the environment all at once.  Whether you’re a farmer looking for something new to harvest or a business professional looking for a great new business opportunity that’s totally green – waste is ripe for the picking.

Everyone’s Got Waste, and You’ve got a Business Opportunity

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

Quick! Name as many types of business as you can….

•    Restaurant

waste4 300x225 Everyone’s Got Waste, and You’ve got a Business Opportunity be your own boss green business opportunity

Waste is everywhere...but you can cash in

•    Clothing Store
•    Supermarket
•    Law Office
•    Office Building
•    Travel Agent
•    Pet Store
•    Shopping Mall•    Video Store
•    Gas Station
•    Fast Food Restaurant•    Call Center
•    Hospital
•    Small Business
•    Manufacturer
•    State Office•    Car Dealership
•    Florist

Ok, that’s enough!

Now, if you consider just a couple of those businesses – imagine the waste they can create.

How about a clothing store? Every day, clothing stores and large retailers have to throw away merchandise and various other “waste” items they come across during their day. For instance, maybe one specific waste item is a defective garment – if it’s thrown away, that’s an opportunity to save money that just got taken straight to the dump. On the other hand, someone experienced with recycling would be able to look at that “waste” and help a business save money that’s otherwise wasted.

Let’s consider another type of business. How about a manufacturer? No matter what kind of products this manufacturer manufactures, they’re bound to have some excess material. Maybe it’s metal, maybe it’s plastic – but no matter which way you look at it, it’s pretty difficult to use 100% of the materials you have to work with. Something usually goes to waste, but that doesn’t have to be the case.  Once again, someone experienced with the in’s and out’s of recycling would know precisely how to take that “waste” that would otherwise be cast aside or thrown away, and turn it into savings. Maybe that means simple recycling, or maybe it means finding someone who needs the material – either way, everyone wins.

See? No matter what kind of business you think about, recycling and business opportunities go hand in hand. Where do you see waste being made that could be turned into valuable savings? Let us know in the comments section!

In a Labor Daze? Get Out With a Green Business Opportunity

labor day 300x200 In a Labor Daze? Get Out With a Green Business Opportunity business recycling recycling

Labor Day - A perfect example of why you need a work at home business.

So, yesterday was   Labor Day. Did you have it off? Maybe you did and maybe you didn’t – but the question begs asking, “are you in a labor daze?” Do you go to work day and day out only to sit down at night and wonder, “what am I accomplishing?”  Maybe a change of career is what you need.

Years ago (more than I can even count), I felt the same exact way. I was tired of work work work, without the payoff that I was looking for, and I figured that the only way to truly get everything I put into my work would be to be my own boss.

I tried making it in one business – it didn’t work and I tried making it in another – it didn’t pay off. But finally I looked around. I saw all the trash that gets hauled away and realized that businesses waste money every day when it comes to business waste such as unused materials, common recyclables, and industrial waste.

I had it – not only a business opportunity that works, but a green business opportunity that helped businesses recycle and save money. Every business creates waste, every business wants to save money, and by earning half of what each business saved on the cost of their waste – they paid nothing out of pocket. It was a win-win for everyone.

Have you succeeded with a work at home business? Or maybe you’ve started a similar green business. Share your stories in the comments, and maybe we’ll delve deeper into what you have to say in a future post.

Leaves, Trash, and Opportunity

leaves 300x225 Leaves, Trash, and Opportunity business recycling recycling

A business opportunity based on recycling is kind of like raking leaves

We’re not too sure about your families, but for many of us – the earliest beginnings of Fall bring to mind a number of traditions. From yearly family outings we squeeze into the last days of summer to the first family activities that are distinctly reserved for autumn, seasonal traditions are everywhere– but around here, the coming of fall brings to mind one distinct tradition, raking leaves.

Depending on your side of the country, not only will you begin to see leaves peppering the ground, but the thought will cross your mind that those leaves will, eventually, need to be disposed of, and that’s where the connection to waste is (you knew it was coming). Raking leaves is just like taking care of business waste. Without raking, your yard’s a mess. Without recycling, your business – and potentially your finances— can be a mess as well.

What are leaves? They look good, they smell good – but essentially, they’re trash. Left on your lawn, they’ll make it look bad and they’ll kill your grass.

What is trash? Trash doesn’t look good, trash doesn’t smell good, and if left on your lawn, everyone will avoid you.

Okay, so maybe in that sense, trash and leaves aren’t painfully similar, but when you think of how you can dispose of them, the similarities arise.

You can recycle leaves, and you can recycle trash. Doing both of these things has a positive effect on the environment and on your image. In that sense, recycling trash – just like recycling leaves – presents an opportunity for businesses to be better.  Just like recycling leaves will save you money by saving your grass – recycling business waste helps a business save money by making waste streams greener and more efficient. But most business owners don’t see this, they’re too busy. You can help them, and make a green business opportunity out of streamlining business waste in a wide variety of industries.
Have you ever wanted to be your own boss and start a work at home business? Now’s your chance. The leaves are fragrant, the trash is pungent – and it’s time to cash in.

National Panini Month? Don’t Waste Your Food!

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

So, August is National Panini Month. Don’t ask why, but apparently sometime last year Sargento Cheese declared that the entire month should be set aside to celebrate paninis. I won’t argue, paninis are delicious, but thinking about food gets me thinking about restaurants. And thinking about restaurants, gets me thinking about all the trash restaurants produce.

panini 300x200 National Panini Month? Dont Waste Your Food! green business opportunity

what do sandwiches have to do with a green business opportunity?

Have you ever driven behind a restaurant? If you have, chances are you’ve seen a large green dumpster filled to the brim with uneaten food, spoiled ingredients, old napkins, and much  more. Restaurants create a serious amount of waste.

Think about it, when you cook at home – whether you’re making paninis to celebrate ‘panini month’ or a scrambled egg— it’s hard not to make a mess, and quite  a lot can get thrown away. Now multiply that so that you’re cooking and cleaning  after hundreds of people every day, and the full-to-the-brim dumpster doesn’t seem all that out of place.

But what do you think a restaurant would say if they could save money by recycling instead? Especially in an economy like ours, businesses are always looking for ways to save money. If you can shift your perspective just a little bit, you can go from seeing all the delicious paninis a restaurant is making for ‘panini month’ to all the trash they create.

Actually that wouldn’t make going to restaurant’s very fun would it? Instead, you can keep seeing all the delicious food. However, at the same time you’ll also be able to see and understand all the opportunities for restaurants to recycle better and save more. For you, it’s a fantastic new green business opportunity, for restaurants, it’s a chance to go green, make a difference, and save some money. It’s actually really simple.

If you’re like me – you love the independence of a work at home business, and recycling is the perfect opportunity to work at home and make a difference at the same time. Here’s one of the perks: I am going to get up, right now, and order a panini.
