Often you’ll be driving down the road, through a neighborhood, or into your own driveway and you’ll see waste. Maybe you see a broken down car, a pile of scrap destined for the dump, or a pile of building materials. They’re all different kinds of materials, but they all have one thing in common—they’re being wasted, and the one thing EWS affiliates know best is that it’s always a mistake to let waste go to waste.
What bothers us so much about all of these things, like old rusty cars and piles of waste, is more than the simple fact that they look bad. One explanation could be that wasted waste bothers us so much because it’s a reminder that the things we so often see as trash were once useful and may still be—it’s a shame to see them cast aside and thrown out, because they can be so much more. EWS affiliates simply point out that what we so easily call trash can continue to be useful and profitable. Affiliates serve as a reminder that waste is something we create but it’s also something we can prevent.
We’re not saying that businesses will stop creating waste, but there’s a big difference between creating waste and preventing it. Preventing waste is preventing loss. Businesses lose when the waste they do create doesn’t go as far as it can. By preventing waste, EWS affiliates allow businesses to take charge and ensure that everything is as useful, profitable, and cost-efficient as possible.
