Leaves, Trash, and Opportunity

green business opportunity

A business opportunity based on recycling is kind of like raking leaves

We’re not too sure about your families, but for many of us – the earliest beginnings of Fall bring to mind a number of traditions. From yearly family outings we squeeze into the last days of summer to the first family activities that are distinctly reserved for autumn, seasonal traditions are everywhere– but around here, the coming of fall brings to mind one distinct tradition, raking leaves.

Depending on your side of the country, not only will you begin to see leaves peppering the ground, but the thought will cross your mind that those leaves will, eventually, need to be disposed of, and that’s where the connection to waste is (you knew it was coming). Raking leaves is just like taking care of business waste. Without raking, your yard’s a mess. Without recycling, your business – and potentially your finances— can be a mess as well.

What are leaves? They look good, they smell good – but essentially, they’re trash. Left on your lawn, they’ll make it look bad and they’ll kill your grass.

What is trash? Trash doesn’t look good, trash doesn’t smell good, and if left on your lawn, everyone will avoid you.

Okay, so maybe in that sense, trash and leaves aren’t painfully similar, but when you think of how you can dispose of them, the similarities arise.

You can recycle leaves, and you can recycle trash. Doing both of these things has a positive effect on the environment and on your image. In that sense, recycling trash – just like recycling leaves – presents an opportunity for businesses to be better.  Just like recycling leaves will save you money by saving your grass – recycling business waste helps a business save money by making waste streams greener and more efficient. But most business owners don’t see this, they’re too busy. You can help them, and make a green business opportunity out of streamlining business waste in a wide variety of industries.
Have you ever wanted to be your own boss and start a work at home business? Now’s your chance. The leaves are fragrant, the trash is pungent – and it’s time to cash in.

Recycling in Our Day to Day: A Business Opportunity in Itself

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

A few days ago I went to lunch with my friend.  While enjoying each other’s company over a good soup and salad combo at our favorite restaurant, I began to wonder if he was aware of how resourceful he is with everything he does throughout his day-to-day life.  I knew by asking him to list off all the items he consumed on the previous day I was going to get a strange look and would have to explain myself – but I knew the little experiment would be worth it.

green business opportunity

By realizing the magnitude of waste, you can seriously earn more.

Just as I felt that awkward pause we’re all so fond of and noticed a quizzical smirk—I knew precisely what would be said next, “you want me to do what?”   After some minor persuasion – perhaps in the form of a drink on me – he finally agreed and told me what he had for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between.

• Breakfast: eggs (last ones in the carton) and an individual cup of yogurt
• Mid-morning: Styrofoam cup filled with coffee
• Lunch: homemade sandwich brought in a plastic bag, bag of chips, and bottle of water
• Mid-day: apple
• Dinner: steak, salad, and 2 bottles of beer

Now here comes the reasoning to my bizarre question and a reason why recycling can be essential to a work at home business opportunity.  Out of everything my friend ate throughout the day, how much of it was recyclable? Obviously not everything was, but looking through his list, I can see that there are at least 8 things that could have been recycled.

Too often we don’t think twice about what we put into our trashcans.  We don’t realize how much money goes into our waste baskets.  It is like the saying “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”.  If you look into your trash at work, you might not find a lot of treasure – but you will find recyclables, and that has value.  By recycling, companies will be able to save money and contribute to a healthier environment. So, it’s really an easy sell.

Every day, EWS affiliates approach business and, essentially say: “I can save you money, at absolutely no cost out of pocket by helping you recycle better.”  Sure, it’s painfully simple. But it’s also painfully effective. So why wait? Have you ever wanted your own work at home business? Maybe recycling is the answer.

We’ve Been Helping Out with Our Green Business Opportunity for Years, but Remember this Time Last Year?

It's Time to make a change: It's Time for better business recycling

It's Time to make a change: It's Time for better business recycling

On the last Friday in February of 2009 the big bad global financial crisis of 2008-2009 was in full swing. It seems like everybody’s chips were down, and it was one headline after another reporting on increased unemployment, a raising deficit, and a financial black hole that nobody ever thought would offer a light at the end of the tunnel.

And what happened in response to the financial crisis? A year ago today Australia and New Zealand signed a new trade agreement, the U.S. offered big businesses bailouts to hopefully stimulate the economy, Banks across the country went under, and Eastern Europe requested $230 billion in aid—that’s just to name a few.

This time last year, things were not looking good for businesses across the world, but now—it seems like things are on an upswing. Either way, we’re going to use this opportunity to take a moment and look at where our EWS affiliates were a year ago with our recession proof business opportunity

Last year, Environmental Waste Solutions
Environmental Waste Solutions weathered the storm of the economy for one key reason—because waste is recession proof. Waste is always going to be a factor, and we’re always going to have to find some way to deal with it. We told our affiliates this when they came on and they felt the positive effects of it when they were underway. Offering better recycling and better savings at no cost really is a recession proof business model. So while big businesses were getting bailouts and thousands upon thousands of businesses across the country were left wondering, “Where’s my bailout” –that’s where EWS came in.

Environmental Waste Solutions Affiliates were able to step in and profit by helping businesses save more money than they ever thought possible, at the moment where they needed it most. They didn’t want to lay workers off or slow production; they needed a better alternative—and they found it by saving money the EWS way. Not only were businesses left breathing a little easier, but new EWS affiliates found an opportunity to work and succeed without being crippled by the debilitating recession.

A year later, how do you like that for a happy ending to a bad recession?

Remember the Alamo!: Recycling Against the Odds

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010
Remember the Alamo? Sometimes it's good to be outnumbered. For EWS Affiliates, there's always plenty of waste to recycle.

Remember the Alamo? Sometimes it's good to be outnumbered. For EWS Affiliates, there's always plenty of waste to recycle.

Do you remember the Alamo from History Class? The Battle of the Alamo was a key turning point in the Texas Revolution, where Mexican Troops launched an attack on the Alamo Mission in present day San Antonio Texas. In the battle, all but two of the Texan defenders were killed and the assumed cruelty of the Mexican general inspired many Texan settlers and United States citizens to join the Texan Army to help fight and defeat the Mexican Army at the Battle of San Jacinto 2 months later to end the revolution.

As you may know, the Battle of the Alamo is what has helped make “Davy Crockett” and “James Bowie” heroes in American folklore, and the entire event at the Alamo has come to represent fighting against the odds. Now, we won’t go so far as to compare EWS affiliates to soldiers at the Alamo, but – when it comes to fighting against the odds, recycling is a constant battle.

Consider for a second the sheer amount of waste that gets hauled away from businesses every week to be dumped in a landfill and forgotten forever. For EWS affiliates, that is an unnecessary waste that, if stopped, can benefit businesses and affiliates immensely in the long run.

Now, consider the astronomical amount of business waste that is still hauled away every week and compare that to the growing number of EWS affiliates across the country. We’re proud that we continue to encourage more and more aspiring business owners to work as EWS affiliates with our fantastic green business opportunity, but the numbers don’t even compare.

However – here’s where our little story differs from the Alamo. Our affiliates love the fact that they’re seemingly outnumbered by business waste. There’s always an opportunity, always a chance to make a dent, and always another opportunity to make a difference. The business waste is there for the taking, and EWS affiliates know that where there’s waste—there’s a great opportunity for business.

Recycling is Truly Amazing

Recycling is Everywhere

You can Recycle More Than You Think

Recently, according to a story on www.petoskeynews.com, Emmet County in Northern Michigan has endeavored to make a special effort to recycle. They report, “Emmet County Recycling and the nonprofit Soles4Souls want to send shoes to Haiti to help residents struggling after the recent earthquakes there.”

According to the organization, they collect shoes and donate them to Soles4Souls to benefit those in need across the world. However, in this particular time of need for the people of Haiti, they report they’re trying to “pick up the pace” to lend a helping hand. We like this story because it stands as an excellent example for just how much good recycling can do. Not only does it do a good job of illustrating the far reaching impact of recycling, but it reminds us that in the many ways you can recycle – you can make a difference.

We recycle in a slightly different way but we’re always proud of the difference it makes, it helps EWS affiliates live better lives, businesses save more money, and communities become more environmentally friendly – all things we’re proud to deliver as EWS affiliates.

Additionally, the way organizations can find a way to recycle virtually anything speaks to the fact that EWS affiliates can also help businesses recycle some of the most unlikely types of business waste. From leftover materials to various hard to recycle metals – EWS affiliates can find a way to help businesses and communities stray from waste and contribute to growth. Even though we deal primarily with business waste, looking at the many ways that recycling helps people around the world helps us remember and appreciate the impact on the environment and the community that recycling has.

Hey, It’s Fat Tuesday! After all that Excess, how about some Recycling?

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

In many denominations of Christianity, the period coming before Easter known as lent is a time of fasting, repentance, and moderation. Lent typically begins on Ash Wednesday and continues for 4 weeks until Easter Sunday. Well, before that begins we all know what comes first – Mardi Gras. Part of Carnival, the period of celebration before the Lenten fasting and abstinence, Mardi Gras means “Fat Tuesday” and – as we all know – is known across the world as a celebration of excess.

However, from the drinking, parades, and beads that have made it so popular to the little known traditions that get overshadowed by the raging party, Mardi Gras really does have something for everyone, and it’s many little facets help illustrate what we do at EWS perfectly.

After the excess of Mardi-Gras, its easy to see how much we can recycle.

After the excess of Mardi-Gras, its easy to see how much we can recycle.

It’s not surprising that a holiday known as “Fat Tuesday” is known to be a celebration of excess, and we can only imagine what kind of recycling can be done after the party. But when it comes to excess, EWS affiliates are the experts. No – not because we’re party animals, but because we see excess every day in the form of uncontrolled business waste, and find a way to turn it into a fantastic business opportunity.

There’s a reason why there’s a holiday to celebrate the bit of excess that comes before the fasting of a religious season, because too much of a good thing isn’t always good (that’s why it’s called excess!). Sure, having a good business means you may be producing more waste, but too much business waste means it’s harder to stay on top of, and when it’s harder to stay on top of it tends to catch up to you faster. That’s where the EWS business opportunity comes in. EWS affiliates are here to help make sure that businesses don’t get caught up in excess waste, and save in the process.

Just like a celebration such as Mardi Gras can remind you what “excess” really is. EWS affiliates reveal to businesses the impact that excess waste has on their company in the form of money they never knew they were losing.

The Winter Olympics are Coming: But What Does That Have to Do With Recycling?

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

Ok, so it might be a stretch, but don’t the Olympic Rings look surprisingly like the plastic rings that hold a six pack of soda (minus one of course)? Those rings (the plastic ones) are perhaps one of the number one symbols of waste and recycling that always come to mind, especially when we see waste strewn about the ocean or lake. Well the Winter Olympics start soon and we can’t help but see the sym

Coming together as a community to recycle is the only way we can make a difference. Let EWS help.

bolism in the Olympic Rings and draw some sort of parallel with recycling.

Every time the Olympics come around it seems like one of the number one questions is: “What do the Olympic Rings Symbolize?” Well, for the short answer— just know that the Olympic Rings represent the union of the five participating continents, were adopted in 1914, and every flag of competing countries includes at least one of the colors – blue, black, yellow, red, or green.

There you have it. The Olympic Rings symbolize unity or a coming together of the people of the world to collaborate on something healthy and beneficial for the global community. At the same time, Environmental Waste Solutions helps communities, businesses, and EWS affiliates come together in a similar way through our business opportunity to form a relationship that’s mutually beneficial for everyone involved.

Just like the Olympics, where countries collaborate to put on something unifying and constructive for the global community, EWS affiliates and businesses come together to make a positive change for their local communities. So when Environmental Waste Solutions affiliates consult with a business about how they can save more and make better use of their waste, we like to think of it as them doing much more than just making money with a fantastic green business opportunity. Rather, we like to think that they leave businesses better and greener. In turn, those businesses leave their communities better and greener – and everyone is just a little better in the end.

“But I Already Recycle!”: There’s a Business Opportunity In What They Don’t Know

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

Over the years we’ve helped quite a few (thousand) businesses save money with our business opportunity. From large businesses including some of the biggest soft drink distributors in the country to small mom and pop businesses down the street. However, no matter how long we do it, one thing never stops changing about helping businesses recycle better. It seems like every business we go to seems to say, “But we already recycle!”

Recyle, save, and earn!

Recyle, save, and earn!

Usually the conversation goes something like this. “You can save much more money by recycling.” To which the business replies, “But we do. We recycle paper and plastic.” What that business usually doesn’t know is that they can recycle much more than they actually think. Perhaps they didn’t know that they could recycle more paper. Or maybe they didn’t realize that they could recycle all that aluminum that they had sitting around gathering dust and looking lonely.

Either way, when it comes down to it – we almost always have the wonderful business opportunity that is proven to help our client businesses open their eyes and see that they can recycle much more to save much more. Over the years, Environmental Waste Solutions affiliates have come into the Environmental Waste Solutions business opportunity to be surprised by the recycling opportunities that they learn are available to all businesses. Before long they learn that those opportunities are opportunities they can profit from, and from there—the rest really is history.

It starts with the desire to save more, it continues with the realization that we can recycle more, and it ends with the gratification of earning more.

Money….Do we Need to Be So Stressed About It?

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

Turn on the radio or put in a CD and you’ll hear it, songs about money – loving it, hating it, and worrying about it. Read a book, and characters are stressing out about it. Watch a movie and more likely than not you’ll see a plot completely centered on a group of guys trying to make a buck. It all just reinforces the saying – money makes the world go ’round. But it doesn’t have to be that hard to get.

Why stress about money? Make more with a better business opportunity.

Why stress about money? Make more with a better business opportunity.

<a href=”http://www.environmental-waste.coml” target=”_blank”>Environmental Waste Solutions gives motivated individuals the chance to make a real living by taking advantage of a market that will continue to grow and give back. Can you even imagine how many truckloads of waste have been hauled away to the dump by businesses who didn’t know they could recycle more? EWS Affiliates turn those trucks around and turn recyclable business waste into a real business opportunity.

EWS affiliates who help businesses recycle not only earn half of what they help their client save when it comes to waste disposal, but they benefit from the knowledge that they’ve helped them go green as well.

Then again, we were talking about money weren’t we? When it comes down to it, you can count on waste to always be around and you can count on businesses always wanting to save money. With training from Environmental Waste Solutions, EWS affiliates can capitalize on both – and it isn’t hard. You’d be surprised by how much more businesses can take advantage of waste, simply because they don’t realize the opportunities that are out there for the materials they use and toss aside every day.

All those opportunities mean one thing, money – so there’s no need to stress, or rob a bank or kidnap somebody like they do in all of those movies and books. Just take a look around, and take advantage of the opportunity.

Spring Forward with Better Business Recycling

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Are you starting to notice it?  As the days go by, they’re finally beginning to get just a little longer.  It’s not pitch black at 5:00 anymore, aSpring brings recycling to mind-- so why not recyle and earn money?nd there’s just the smallest hint of sunlight on the horizon on your commute home.  So what does it mean? It means winter is finally drawing to a close, and as the snow begins to melt you’ll start to see what it’s been hiding all along– everything you forgot to pick up and get rid of.  You’ll start noticing the leaves you didn’t rake up, the sticks littered across the yard, and (depending on how much snow you got this year) the lawn ornaments that have been buried all winter.

It’s kind of like business waste.  Sometimes you need an awakening to realize what you’ve been missing or overlooking for so long. So like the snow melts and you realize all the waste you left behind – businesses have just as many (if not more) opportunities to open their eyes and see how much they could be recycling where they weren’t before. From plastic bottles and paper to leftover manufacturing materials— they all don’t have to just sit there and go to waste. business recycling can  help.  They can be put to use, they can be recycled, and they can in one way or another be profited from.

That’s where Environmental Waste Solutions comes into play. Businesses can save money all they want but many times the change, or the “spring” that they need to see what they’ve been missing is the advice of an expert.  Environmental Waste Solutions trains independent waste consultants to approach businesses and present them the awakening they need to become green businesses, recycle more, and save money while they’re at it.
