Recycling is Truly Amazing

You can Recycle More Than You Think

Recently, according to a story on www.petoskeynews.com, Emmet County in Northern Michigan has endeavored to make a special effort to recycle. They report, “Emmet County Recycling and the nonprofit Soles4Souls want to send shoes to Haiti to help residents struggling after the recent earthquakes there.”

According to the organization, they collect shoes and donate them to Soles4Souls to benefit those in need across the world. However, in this particular time of need for the people of Haiti, they report they’re trying to “pick up the pace” to lend a helping hand. We like this story because it stands as an excellent example for just how much good recycling can do. Not only does it do a good job of illustrating the far reaching impact of recycling, but it reminds us that in the many ways you can recycle – you can make a difference.

We recycle in a slightly different way but we’re always proud of the difference it makes, it helps EWS affiliates live better lives, businesses save more money, and communities become more environmentally friendly – all things we’re proud to deliver as EWS affiliates.

Additionally, the way organizations can find a way to recycle virtually anything speaks to the fact that EWS affiliates can also help businesses recycle some of the most unlikely types of business waste. From leftover materials to various hard to recycle metals – EWS affiliates can find a way to help businesses and communities stray from waste and contribute to growth. Even though we deal primarily with business waste, looking at the many ways that recycling helps people around the world helps us remember and appreciate the impact on the environment and the community that recycling has.

The Weather Outside is Frightful, but Recycling Is so Delightful

The holiday season is upon us and we wouldn’t be too surprised if you were anticipating a serious cavity in your pocket in the coming weeks. Last year, there was the recession which still hasn’t blown over, and sometimes it just feels like the holidays bring all the stress and none of the joy. If there’s snow on the ground and you don’t feel like shoveling, and the prospect of one more family party makes you weary—you can rest assured that some things remain certain. Even though the economy, our families, and our jobs can give us a hard time, it doesn’t mean that we have to let them keep us down. Let’s Give Thanks

Here at Environmental Waste Solutions we have a lot to be thankful for. For the past 15 years we’ve had the opportunity to offer both businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs the chance to earn a living and make an impact. They’ve had the chance to make an impact not only by having a positive influence on the environment, but they’ve had the chance to promote recycling and make life just a little easier for everyone involved—from their client businesses to the men and women working in the booming recycling industry.

If you haven’t figured it out already, it’s hard not to talk about the connection between Thanksgiving and giving thanks for the many opportunities we have in our lives. Here at EWS we’re not only thankful for the opportunities we’ve had to do work that makes a difference in the long term, but we’re thankful for our many affiliates who do the same through their relationships with thousands of businesses across the country.

For many, family is at the heart of Thanksgiving, and we like to think the opportunity EWS provides is somehow rooted in both. Take for instance the potential Environmental Waste Solutions affiliate, working long hours and sacrificing precious family time for time in the office. Some may say, “That’s what it takes to be successful,” but at Environmental Waste Solutions, we disagree. EWS affiliates are thankful that they can be their own boss, savor their family time, and still be successful. Ultimately, we’re happy to provide both affiliates and businesses a sense of control. Control over time and control over waste.

Control might sound like a strange thing to be thankful for, but in the way we think of it—it’s anything but. Some Time for Yourself

Sometimes you just want to get away from it all. Don’t you? Or maybe you just need to take a personal day. Well, unfortunately, in today’s world that’s not always possible. Sorry…..

But wait!

There’s hope. It doesn’t end there. You don’t have to settle for the daily grind—and one of the solutions for getting out of it is an unlikely one. If you’ve been reading our blog at all in the past year or so you’ll know the answer—trash. If it smells, it sells—and here are some suggestions on how you would be able to take advantage of recycling as a business waste consultant.

Restaurants: You wouldn’t believe how much biomass restaurant’s throw out every day, let alone every year. We can’t fault them for throwing out the food, because it’s not like they can serve old food, but there’s more to be done with bio-waste than simply stuffing it into a dumpster for raccoons. More and more advances are being made to take advantage of waste produced by businesses such as restaurants. From alternative fuel to composting, the opportunities are there to be taken advantage of.
Factories: Factories create tons of waste every year—like scrap metal. Chances are a lot of that waste can be recycled and used within the same industry. No matter what the materials are—you’d be surprised by how much there is to recycle and reuse.

Office Complexes: Every year businesses create tons of waste. More often than not they cart off all of it to the landfills when recycling is actually much more efficient, much less expensive, and just as easy. At the same time, many businesses can save money by embracing
green business initiatives —and we all know that small businesses are always looking to save money, especially in this economy.

So why not break away from the grind and take advantage of the opportunities that recycling can provide for ambitious small business owners? The list of opportunities to earn money from recycling doesn’t end with our small list.
